YES THEY CAN

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As you can tell from the previous post, I was pretty skeptical about the ability of the Barcelona police to get my phone back.

I have been getting calls from them all day, asking me different things. I bought a new phone. I moved on. I started to feel like I would like this phone. Started to trust in the new phone. And felt  that things were going well.

I digress, anyways... Well, today after playing volley ball for a while, I get a call on the way to the gym tI get a call to come in. I took the metro, and waited around in the police station... BUT I GOT IT BACK!!!

London Calling!

London was awesome. Met an Australian bloke I toured around the city with. A texan bloke who I am going to stay with in Amsterdam. And as you can imagine I said mate and cheers tons!

I know there was minimal effort in the title, but I am alright with that :)

Policia

Since getting my phone stolen. The theif took a video of himself on my phone, stupid mistake. Any picture or video gets sent to my computer...

Three hours later the police have it. Let´s see if the police in Barcelona do anything.

Robbed, Burnt, and Party Party

I had three firsts this weekend.

The first was I was robbed. To my friends in Barcelona, this means that I am officially a resident. I promply got a congradulations and a pat on the back.

The second was a sun burn.

And last but not least was the greatest party of my life. It was a swimming pool party at the largest waterpark in Europe. Complete with DJ and pool loatees. 20, 000 people. Waterslides. Pool. Amazing DJ.... Need I say more?

The picutures are on facebook and do not give the party justice.

Paris Je t'aime

For some reason I had a theory that people from France, spoke french in public. Then in private, when they were alone in their own houses, they spoke english. French was this elaborate hoax to fool everyone!

Well, I found out. After careful investigation, they speak french at home too :)

The Magic of It All

There is no doubt that Barcelona is a magical place. The classical music on the train, the history of the city and buildings... there is magic in the air.

I saw that magical fountain yesterday. It was amazing. A huge fountain, light show and disney songs it can't get any better :)

Still this journey hasn't been easy. I moved here to become independent. Learn to do things on my own that; learn to do things that others seem to have learned without flying across an ocean :p
I have been doing everything for my own: cooking, cleaning, navigating the city without gps. But I feel like I am not quite there.. Will that feeling ever go away, or is it something I have to live with?

All the old people congregate to this place and play until late

Friend of ours.

Moving the Thumb Ring

Saturday, beach volleyball and then a party.

Today. Cooking and cleaning :(

Alright, ladies and gentlemen,
For your entertainment and contemplation I have a tale for you. A true story that happened to me yesterday.
After cooking and cleaning for a large portion of the day, my roommates kicked me out, kindly :) to see some more of the city, its pretty late but in Spain, everyone is out all the time.

While I was out, I decided to catch one of those tourist buses. I always see them, and it would be a good way see the city and explore some places I have not seen before.

At the ticket booth, I ask about the buses from a gentlemen, not much older than me. He has a cool hair style, with some scruff and a nose ring. His English is pretty good, and find it comforting in a city that seems to eat, sleep, and breath Spanish, and Catalan :)

So he starts to chat me up. I am a bored tourist with nothing to do, so I talk to him. Its cool. I see him talk in Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Catalan, and of course English. So after a while, the sun is setting. I was there maybe a half an hour. So like my Spanish teacher taught me, to practice my Spanish  ¿Te gusteria tomar un cafe conmigo para practicer mi espanol? Which means, do you want to drink some coffee with me and practice Spanish with me?

He seemed cool. So we walk along the street, and he points out buildings, telling me the history of them. We meet some of his female friends and chill with them for a bit. So after a couple of hours instead of coffee we end up at a Japanese restaurant. I can honestly say we spoke mostly English.

We talk, he just broke up with his lover after 7 years, and his father died recently. He is starting his own business. He has a dream to Japan. Micky was an interesting fellow. Still he kept asking me questions about myself, but I just thought he was curious, like my Spanish teacher told me about people from Barcelona.
Then he started to get very handy. But again, my Spanish teacher told me this was normal. Spanish people are warm! It is there custom!

I go to the bathroom and he pays bill, which is extremely kind of him. We go out to a bar, one that we worked at. And then it comes, "You know people that have their ring on their thumb in Spain, it means that you are bisexual. Are you gay?"

I am not gay, never tried, never been curious, but I appreciate the compliment :)
Micky is a cool guy, we are going to hang out later.
That was my yesterday. Today moving the ring.
